Xenophobia and racism? ARMY won't be left alone!

BTS is the biggest group in the world but they still face stigma and hate. In the last year alone, BTS has been the target of racism and xenophobia by many public figures or the stars themselves.

Here are eight people criticized for disrespecting the group:
1.Joe Budden

The American media personality, a former rapper, has faced backlash for saying he hates BTS for no particular reason.

When discussing Grammy 2022 on The Joe Budden Podcast, he said, “I hate BTS so much”. The reason? “I don’t want to see that group.” Budden also said BTS is a Chinese group instead of a Korean group.
Not surprisingly, Budden was immediately reacted by ARMY. However, instead of apologizing, Budden grew older, rejecting ARMY’s opinion.

2. Liam Payne and Logan Paul
Former One Direction member Liam Payne was also recently criticized for downplaying BTS’ success.

When he guested on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, he mercilessly criticized other artists, including bandmate Zayn Malik and BTS.
Logan Paul also added salt and pepper, calling One Direction “the biggest boy band of all time”, downplaying BTS’ achievements. With no concept of modesty, Payne acknowledged Paul’s words and hinted that some K-pop groups were aiming for the position. It’s wild!
3. Tucker Carlson
On May 31, BTS met with US President Joe Biden at the White House to discuss racism, hate crimes against Asians, and many other issues. Although the majority of reactions to BTS’ visit have been positive, not everyone has been.

Host Tucker Carlson was criticized for disrespecting BTS on his Tucker Carlson Tonight show.
“Things are going very badly for Joe Biden, both publicly and internally. What are they doing? They broke glass in an emergency and every Korean group came to speak at the White House today. So we have a Korean pop group discussing Asian hate crimes in America. OK. Very good!” — Tucker Carlson.

Carlson was immediately “questioned” by ARMY after this comment.

4. Andy Biggs

Carlson isn’t the only public figure to belittle BTS. American politician Andy Biggs also had a mechanical move on Twitter when saying BTS knows how to protect borders, reduce inflation and gas prices or the birth rate problem.

As ARMY pointed out, BTS doesn’t fly across the world to work for him.
5. Host Mi Barrio
Chilean comedy presenter Mi Barrio must have tried to “get fame” by making racist and xenophobic jokes about BTS. The actors playing BTS mocked the Korean language with silly words.

Immediately, ARMY spread the tag #ElRacismoNoEsComedia, demanding an apology to BTS. In response, Mi Barrio said they were just having fun, not mean.
6. Mehrad Hidden
The Iranian rapper allegedly took the shield emblem of BTS and insulted the group with racist and homophobic jokes.

“What the hell are these people?” – Hidden posted on Instagram.
In response to ARMY’s backlash, Hidden deleted the post.
7. Matthias Matuschik

German radio host Matthias Matuschik from Bayern 3 station compared BTS to Covid-19.

Both ARMY and groups campaigning against Asian discrimination in Germany have spoken out. Matthias could only resist weakly.

8. Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy Kimmel has been criticized more than once for including BTS in his joke. Just a week after comparing the “BTS craze” to Covid-19, Jimmy Kimmel was accused of implying BTS in a monologue about the Omnicron variant.
